Hey, I'm Bonnie
I grew up with entrepreneur parents, potters in Tasmania, so business conversations were just part of everyday life around our kitchen table!
In my final year of university, while studying graphic design, I co-founded my first business with my parents, a tea company. We ran that business for nine years before selling it & it's still thriving today. (the art of tea - Tasmania if you want to look it up - I did the packaging design & it's still the same after 25 years!)
Alongside that, I spent 20 years running my own graphic design studio, working with clients, building brands, managing income streams, & sustaining a creative business over the long term.
And, over the past 23 years, I’ve also built a fully booked doula practice, supporting families in birth while navigating the realities of being on call, setting boundaries, pricing services, & running a business alongside raising 5 children & homeschooling them all!
Over the years, I’ve intentionally built multiple ways of working that don’t depend on being physically present at every birth.
I’ve created three online courses, run workshops & masterclasses, & developed smaller, flexible services, including 1:1 sessions for families & business mentoring for doulas privately, helping them build steady, sustainable businesses.
Today, I work as a birth doula in Perth, Australia & a birth coach with a worldwide audience, supporting families & birth workers far beyond my local community.
I currently mentor doulas inside the Doula Training Academy in Perth with Vicki Hobbs.
Everything I share comes from lived experience; as we know this is heart-led work so we have to find ways to do this alongside the practical realities of sustainability.
This masterclass exists because I’ve seen, again & again, doulas unable to continue due to burnout.
Not everything I know came easily, most of the best lessons came through hard experiences I had to grow through, & I share this work so others can build something steadier without repeating the same steep learning curves.
